Biomarkers

Basic panel markers provide a high level overview of heart, metabolic and blood health. You would typically find these biomarkers in an annual check-up or routine physical.

Includes basic panel markers + the latest in preventative care, cardiovascular and metabolic health, and inflammation such as vitamin D, TSH, and HbA1c.

Results

Delivered via paper print out given in-person at doctor's office. Additional request for copies sent via mail.

Accessible from your secure, online account. Can be printed, faxed, or downloaded to share.

Next steps

Typically a doctor will flag you where you might be at risk. However, if your results fall within normal ranges, the doctor's office won't necessarily discuss your report at length.

Visualized results show where you fall in range, as well as what it takes to optimize each biomarker, to be your best self.

Health tracking

Results stored in individual locations, available to you on an as-requested basis. New results from additional draws displayed alone, independent of previous draw(s).

All results are stored for reference and comparison as you continue on your health journey. See where you've been and set goals for where you want to be, then check your progress whenever you want, 24/7.

What you'll be testing

Basic Lipid Panel

One of the leading causes of death for women over 40 is heart disease, including heart attack and stroke. While most cholesterol can increase clogging in our arteries, impairing blood flow and increasing risk of a heart attack and a stroke, some cholesterol can actually be helpful, so your risk is determined by the balance of various types. But how can you assess this balance? A lipid panel can identify the primary risks for heart disease. The lipid panel breaks down Total Cholesterol into less healthy LDL cholesterol, and healthier HDL cholesterol. The lipid panel also examines Triglycerides, the fats in the blood that can also contribute to clogging of blood vessels.

Thyroid

The thyroid significantly influences metabolism and energy use, and is the most common hormone imbalance in the U.S. Thyroid conditions are far more prevalent in women, and increase with aging. Most thyroid dysfunction is low thyroid function that can cause fatigue, weight gain, depression, as well as high cholesterol and blood sugar. TSH can act as a screening test for significant thyroid dysfunction.By optimizing thyroid function, not only can energy, weight and mood be improved, but so can cholesterol and blood sugar.

10-percent-icon

Appoximately ten percent of people in the us have a thyroid imbalance and half of those are undiagnosed.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption for stronger bones. As women age they are especially prone to osteoporosis, or weakening of bones. Optimal Vitamin D levels can help decrease this by optimizing Calcium absorption into bones. Vitamin D deficiency also increases inflammation, which can impair the immune system and increase the risk for chronic diseases such as heart disease and cancer.

Sun-icon

Because of less sun exposure than our ancestors, a majority of society is deficient in Vitamin D.

  • 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D

Advanced Blood Sugar

Resistance to insulin increases as we get older, lowering blood sugar. In addition, body fat can promote insulin resistance and on average women have more body fat than men. Since blood sugar can vary based on various factors, one of the best indicators for pre-diabetes and diabetes is measuring average blood sugar, or HbA1c. This gives a more accurate picture of your risk profile than relying solely on current blood sugar.
